One for the workaholics

Upon moving into her new house, Yvonne knew she wanted help designing a study that would meet all her needs. As someone who has a mixture of hobbies, she knew that she needed a space that could work for every part of her home life. Take a look at some of her unusual storage requests.

I finally have a space that I can use and store everything that I need in one place.

Yvonne came to us after seeing our work in her daughter’s home - you can see her project in the case study, a cosy cottage. She knew that she wanted us to take on her project, but she didn’t quite know where to start.

After looking online at countless inspirational pictures, she decided on a contemporary design that would need to store a range of different items, such as her files from her time in the States, her sewing machine, her sublimation printer, and her CDs. At her desk, she made it clear that she wanted no wires on show as they would ruin the minimalistic style of her home.

Flash forward to the final design, and not only does she have a custom-made space for everything, but she also has a removable lid hiding away her plug sockets to keep her desk area tidy and clutter-free. With dimmable lighting and a bespoke sideboard to use all of the awkward space in the corner of her room, she now has a study that can be used for all of her hobbies, and a family room for when her grandkids come over to visit.
